Iolite

Iolite has become popular in the last few years because of its relative cheapness and its unique indigo colour. It has shaken off its image as the poor man's sapphire and achieved prominence in its own right as a desirable gemstone. It is much used by modern jewellery designers looking for "something different". It is believed to be a detoxifier for addictions (especially alcohol)
