Tsavorite is a trade name given to a green form of Garnet. It was discovered in the Tsavor region of Kenya in the 1960ís and is, like Tanzanite, one of the new gemstones. The brilliance of its lustre and the intensity of colour make it a very desirable alternative to emerald. Tsavorite is being featured more and more in modern jewellery.
